Advanced Engineering & Metals: The advanced engineering and metals sector in Yorkshire and Humber employs over 170,000 people and accounts for 40% of the region's manufacturing GDP equivalent to £5 billion annually.

Bioscience: The Bioscience clsuter already employs more than 10,000 people and is one of the most exciting bioscience clusters within the UK. Since 2003, the region has invested over £20 million in bioscience research and today has a strong knowledge base represented by several Centres of Research Excellence

Chemicals: Yorkshire and Humber accounts for around 10% of the UK's chemical industry as a whole as a whole. Employing over 30,000 people spread across 180 sites, the chemicals cluster encompasses the 40 companies and 10,000 people working in chemical related industries such as oil refining, petro-chemicals, engineering services, and chemical distribution located on the Humber Bank.

Digital Industries: Around 30% of the UK’s internet traffic flows through Leeds and around 5000 companies are active in software services and the development and support of bespoke applications. The region's leading web design companies supply a host of multinational companies, while Yorkshire is second only to London for UK film and TV production

Food & Drink: The Yorkshire and the Humber region is renowned as the country's leading food processing region and is home to some of the  world’s most recognisable brands.

Healthcare: The healthcare Sector provides 260,000 jobs across the region and health spending totals £5.2 billion with 28% of expenditure going to suppliers within the Yorkshire and Humber region.
